29. That Winter Base

Tis the season to be jolly (FALALALALA LALA LALA)
I don't know about you guys but I'm never really prepared for Winter and the upcoming colder months it brings. Being the lucky gal and living in the lovely country named Canada, we get it bad and sadly, no amount of beautiful snow can measure up to the harsh truth that comes with Winter, a dry season full of dull skin. I also happened to be sick for a good amount of three weeks and needed a perked up look for school and this happens to be my "let's pretend I'm not ill while sneezing every two minutes" base.

First of all, I have the Soap & Glory Glow Job moisturizer, it is one of those incredible products that really do hydrate the skin but adds a subtle healthy glow and it has micro Bronzeburst beads that just complete a temporary sun kissed look. To add up to that, I use the Annabelle CC Instant Perfecting Base Luminous Finish, while some of you might be thinking that this is turning into a dreading oily face situation, this CC basically neutralizes redness and dull complexion which is good.

As foundation, I bought the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full coverage foundation SPF 15 (what a mouthful) in the beginning of November and it is incredible. I'm not into the full foundation, matte face finish but with the use of the Soap & Glory moisturizer and Annabelle's CC cream, it is the perfect mix of healthy looking skin while not abusing the full matte yet not all sheer look. For the very much loved dark circles, I am loving the Trick&Treatment from Soap & Glory, like any concealer, dab it into those circles of darkness and blend them away. I love using the ELF Studio blush to add some color to my cheeks, they are cheap to get but quality wise, the pigment is just incredible.

I don't powder my t-zone as much when its Winter since my skin doesn't produce as much oil but if needed, I just dab a bit of Rimmel Stay Matte or the Annabelle CC powder on my nose.

Hope you all have enjoyed your holidays so far !

  1. I've heard so many wonderful things about Tarte's Foundation (I didn't even bother saying the full name haha)! Good luck with school <3

    1. Brands definitely need to think of shorter names ! The foundation is incredible though, a little goes a long way

  4. I've never heard of Soap & Glory's Glow Job lotion, but I'm interested in trying it out. I've been looking for something to give my skin a glow this spring. I looked at NARS body glow, but it was like $60 so I was like hellllll no, haha. Is it just a moisturizer for your face or your whole body?

    1. I feel the same way about Nars, they have such amazing stuff but the price, no thank you ! This one is only for the face but I do know that S&G have two lotions that give a nice glow to the skin, either Glow lotion or the righteous body cream. Haven't tried them though so I don't know if it gives a nice natural look or a overdone twilight vampire one
